MARCH 21, 2018

Sunrise Management vice president of marketing Melissa Deen is featured in The Daily Transcript’s Top Influential Women for 2018, a special supplement which honors the most talented, innovative and influential women in San Diego.

According to the San Diego business publication, the featured professionals represent a gamut of industries – from legal to financing – but have all made an important impact on their industry and the community.

Now vice president of marketing for Sunrise Management, Melissa Deen has been active in the real estate industry for over 15 years — working in multiple aspects of the industry to utilize her marketing, business development and leadership strengths. She has helped reinvent the marketing program for Sunrise — which currently oversees more than 13,000 multifamily units throughout California and the Southwest — making it more robust and metric driven and providing a strategic competitive advantage. Establishing a marketing and customer service centric brand has served as the basis for expanding the firm’s presence in Arizona and entering new markets in Sacramento and Las Vegas. Overall, Sunrise’s portfolio has grown by more than 75% in less than 5 years, due in part to Deen’s strategic sales and marketing programs. Next up, Deen and the Sunrise team are poised to announce a new brand which has been a collective effort over the last 12 months and will reflect their growth and evolution.

She has been involved with the Building Industry Association of San Diego (BIA) for more than 10 years and is past president of the yGEN Council of the BIA and board member of the inaugural Board of Directors (only female President in the Council’s history). She is also past president of the BIA’s Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) and a past board member and member of inaugural Board of Directors for the BIA’s Build SD PAC. In addition, she is a board of directors for the San Diego County Apartment Association and for six years has been an active supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the annual MS Walk.

A native of Connecticut, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communications from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT.
